Letting Go First.

This week, I want to share with you a poem I wrote. This poem came from a place of learning how to release the things I’ve held onto for so long. It speaks to the importance of loosening our grip, taking a breath and releasing what hurts us. While it’s not an easy thing to do, its a vital part of growth.

Letting Go First
The more you hang on, the harder the fall.
The longer it takes to walk away, the more you sit back and stall.
But these things aren’t easy — they’re not meant to be.
Just look in the mirror, and set yourself free.
I’m talking about the hold you have within,
the ones that hurt you and cause you to spin.
Consumed in your thoughts, you just can’t escape —
locked in your head, unable to change.
But stop for a minute and take a breath in.
Look up to the sky and take it all in.
The moment is now, and nothing else matters.
That moment of peace can turn into hours.
Relax your mind and release your heart.
Let go of what hurts you — go back to the start.
I know it seems scary, might feel like you’re cursed,
but I promise there’s courage
in letting go first.
